Operations Engineer

What does your working day look like?

In your role as an Operations Engineer at Btwentyfour, you’ll engage in collaboration not just within the IT Operations team, but across the entire company, to enhance and innovate our infrastructure services.

Our platforms, all hosted on Microsoft Azure, serve as the foundation for our ambitious projects. From building resilient systems with Azure’s disaster recovery tools to streamlining our digital workspace via Office 365, and ensuring device security with Microsoft Intune—every task you tackle is vital. Moreover, you’ll be instrumental in deploying Azure VMs, managing and scaling Azure SQL databases, developing solutions with Azure App Services, and optimizing workflows with Azure Service Bus.

Your day will be filled with deploying advanced technologies, solving complex challenges, spearheading improvements, and occasionally, managing on-call duties.

Together, we work as a cohesive team, using our diverse expertise to secure operations, improve our work environments, and devise smarter solutions for our team and Btwentyfour’s customers.

Key requirements / need to have

• Expert knowledge of Azure ecosystem including Storage Accounts, SQL DB, VMs, Backups and related services and it’s configuration possibilities
• Expert experience with Windows Server administration within Azure
• Proven experience in operating larger IT systems in Azure, encompassing VMs, Storage Accounts, Web Apps, App Service Plans, NSGs, Vnet, and more
• Profiency in Azure’s disaster recovery tools such as backup recovery vaults
• Experience in Cloud performance monitoring, profiling, and tuning
• IT security experience, including best practices for application and network security
• Proficiency in Azure Web App management, and troubleshooting
• Experience in Office 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams)
• Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud
• A degree in the Information Technology field or the equivalent of practical work experience
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Bonus / nice to have

• Experience working with large Azure SQL-servers
• Azure certifications
• Compliance related work (ISO27001 SOC2)
• Managed File Transfer systems, knowledge of FTP/SFTP/AS2 protocols
• Programming operational tasks on relevant platforms using scripting languages, e.g., PowerShell/CLI
• Profiency in Microsoft Intune
• Experience from 2nd/3rd line support and Incident Management
• General experience of the retail industry.
